In the preview version of Windows Server 2025 Build 26063 released by Microsoft a month ago, it even added the Copilot artificial intelligence application to the Windows Server system and also required administrators to log in to their Microsoft accounts.
This news has caused quite a bit of controversy in the IT administrator community, after all, this is a Windows Server server system, which focuses on stability rather than rich features. The integration of Copilot is incomprehensible. It can’t be that when IT administrators encounter problems with the server, they also conveniently search for answers through Copilot. This approach is slightly outrageous, which is why it has caused controversy.
However, in the latest preview version of Windows Server 2025, Microsoft has removed Copilot. Just like adding this application, Microsoft has not issued any announcements from adding to deleting, but obviously, Microsoft also realizes that something is not right.
In the Windows Server 2025 Build 26085 version, Copilot has indeed been removed, and Copilot cannot be seen in the taskbar options. It is estimated that Microsoft will not add it again in the future.
This problem may occur because Windows Server 2025 is also built based on the Windows 11 24H2 version, so some things are common. Microsoft didn’t pay attention and just pushed it directly. After being complained by IT administrators, it is better to delete it. Let Windows Server continue to be neat instead of AI.
