The TikTok divestiture plan has been included in the US House of Representatives’ aid bill.

There is a new development in the US’s plan to force the Chinese-owned company, ByteDance, to sell its short-video platform TikTok.

In a series of aid bills for Ukraine and Israel announced by the Republican House leader of the US Congress on Wednesday, new clauses that forces ByteDance to have to sell TikTok is included.

The related bills are expected to be voted on in Congress as soon as next week and officially become a bill. The Senate stated that the relevant version is different from the version passed earlier by the House of Representatives, requiring ByteDance to sell TikTok within one year instead of half a year.
