March 27th, there was another unexpected “linkage” in the tech industry. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of social media giant Meta, posted a photo on Instagram on Tuesday of swapping jackets with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
In the picture, Zuckerberg is wearing Jensen Huang’s signature black leather jacket, while Jensen Huang wears the brown coat that Zuckerberg wore on his previous visit to Asia. This interesting interaction not only marks a change in Zuckerberg’s personal style, but also suggests the potential for a collaboration between Meta and Nvidia in the field of artificial intelligence.
Zuckerberg has previously been seen in simple gray T-shirts and hoodies, and this clothing swap showcases his more fashionable side. This is not his only recent image breakthrough. Earlier this month, when Zuckerberg and his wife attended the pre-wedding party of the Ambani family, they made a stunning appearance in a black couple outfit designed by Alexander McQueen, showing a luxurious style.
In addition to clothing, Zuckerberg seems to have developed an interest in luxury watches. At Ambani’s party, he expressed his envy of the Richard Mille watch worn by Anant Ambani and said that he had never thought of buying a watch before, but changed his mind after seeing that watch.
It is currently unclear when the photo of Zuckerberg and Jensen Huang was taken and the specific details of their meeting.Neither company has made an official response to this interaction.
However, given Zuckerberg’s ambition to actively enter the field of artificial intelligence, it is not surprising that the two tech giants would collaborate. Last year, in the earnings conference call, Zuckerberg stated that artificial intelligence would be the largest investment area for Meta in engineering and computing resources in 2024.
To achieve this goal, Meta has purchased a large number of chips from Nvidia. According to Zuckerberg, by the end of this year, Meta will have more than 340,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs for artificial intelligence model training and deployment. Such a huge chip reserve gives Meta a significant advantage in the highly competitive AI field. Zuckerberg said: “We have built a large-scale R&D capability that is far beyond any other company, and I think many people may not be aware of this.”
